Senior Consulting Engineer, Federal


As a Senior Consulting Engineer, you will establish and maintain positive and constructive relationships with customers as you communicate to understand their network and security architecture, infrastructure and operational environment in addition to helping them understand their network security objectives while mapping to RedSeal capabilities.  This role requires hands-on leadership to resolution of technical/integration problems effectively escalating critical issues of both technical and operational nature. You will provide standard and customized training on the RedSeal platform while providing accurate, complete and timely written documentation for all project phases.  Must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customer representatives at multiple levels of the organization, from highly technical to senior management.  

Performance Objectives

  • Establish, and maintain positive and constructive relationships with clients
  • Communicate with the customer to understand their network and security architecture, infrastructure and operational environment
  • Communicate with the customer to understand their network security objectives
  • Maps customer network security objectives to RedSeal capabilities
  • Define practical plan for integrating RedSeal into a customer environment to meet their specific objectives
  • Assist customer towards realization of the effectively integrated system
  • Hands-on leadership to resolution of technical/integration problems
  • Effectively escalate critical issues of both technical, and operational nature
  • Provide standard, and customized training on the RedSeal system
  • Identify additional integration and value opportunities
  • Provide accurate, complete and timely written documentation for all project phases

Required Qualifications/Skills

  • (8 years+) of Network and/or Security consulting experience
  • CCNA and or CCNP
  • BE in CS/CIS/EE/MIS, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customer representatives at multiple levels of the organization – from highly technical, to senior management
  • Ability to identify, understand and communicate complex network and security issues effectively
  • Effective Project Management and leadership skills, working with multiple teams within the customer environment
  • Ability to identify, escalate, and resolve issues that impact customer success
  • Ability to effectively track and communicate project status and results
  • Ability to identify opportunities for broader integration opportunities within the customer environment
  • Ability to identify and communicate techniques, methodologies and usability enhancements to improve future projects
  • Strong organizational skills that drive execution
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to be self-directed

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • Experience administering RedSeal
  • Experience in using scripting languages: Java, Python etc.
  • Strong foundation in dynamic routing protocols
  • Understanding of network security controls, including firewalls, VPN, ACLs, IPS/IDS
  • Experience working in virtual/cloud environments (NSX & AWS)
  • Unix/Linux experience
  • Cloud security best practices
  • Experience with the following security and networking products: Tenable, Tenable Security Center, ForeScout, Cisco ISE, HP Network Automation (HPNA), Splunk / Splunk ES
